Our Vision Is Clear
Construct a homelike inpatient pavilion to care for hospice patients who can’t be cared for at home.
Create a healing garden where patients, families and our community can find peace and comfort amid illness and grief.
Things to Know
The Inpatient Pavilion will …
- Allow a patient to receive medical care in a warm, comfortable place when symptoms require an inpatient level of care.
- Accommodate family members (all ages) who want to stay the night, prepare and share meals, and be present with their loved one.
- Overlook a stunning nature preserve.
- Be the first freestanding inpatient hospice facility in Cook County.
- Have LEED certification: a construction project that is environmentally friendly.
The Healing Garden will ...
- Offer a variety of restorative experiences for those coping with a serious illness or the death of a loved one.
- Be visible from indoor patient/family spaces and balconies.
- Reflect the latest in healthcare garden design.
- Be created in partnership with the Chicago Botanic Garden.
- Serve as a national demonstration site for horticultural therapy.
