Physician
Section Chief Palliative Care, Palliative Medicine Physician, Clinical Educator & Associate Hospice Medical Director
Full-time position, responsible for:
- Administration and quality of a regionally based hospital/community comprehensive palliative care program within a collaborative service model.
- Medical component of palliative medicine and hospice care.
- Leadership in Midwest CareCenter clinical education; must function within the interdisciplinary structure to facilitate optimal systems-based care.
Education-
Doctor of medicine licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.
- Board certified in hospice and palliative medicine.
Experience-
Significant experience in palliative and hospice care.
- Significant experience and leadership in medical administration.
- Significant expertise in program development, education, and quality.
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in staff, volunteer and community education.
- Demonstrated expertise in management and supervision of other healthcare professionals, especially physicians and advanced practice nurses.
- Clinical practice management experience with the understanding of: medical billing; coding; medical practice accounting; reports needed to monitor practice health; billing programs and HER; employee requirements/job descriptions.
Other Requirements-
Must possess/use own vehicle, have current valid driver’s license and maintain liability auto insurance.
- Ability to use cell phone and operate PDA devices.

Hospice & Palliative Medicine Physician Associate Medical Director
Provide specialty level palliative medicine for Hospice and Palliative Care Services (PCS) patients/families in home, office, hospital, facility and hospice inpatient unit setting(s), with active integration within interdisciplinary hospice and PCS teams.
- Serve in a consultative role for referring physicians and, as necessary, in primary palliative medical management of patients/families in addressing and managing goals of care as well as complex physical and psychological symptoms.
- Serve as a medical director for hospice team(s) to insure compliance with regulatory statutes and best practice guidelines.
- One full-time position and one part-time (00 FTE) position.
Education
- MD, Board certification internal medicine or a primary specialty, licensed to practice in Illinois.
Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of adult medicine as well as specialty level palliative medicine.
- Computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook. Allscripts or electronic medical record competency
