Comfort Zone 2009 Brings in Generous Support
May 2009
"Cultivate, nurture and flourish” was the aim of guests at Comfort Zone 2009, held at the Chicago Botanic Garden on Friday, May 1.
Thank you to all who supported the event, whether through attendance, sponsorship or donations.
Approximately 150 individuals bid on exquisite and/or action- packed live and silent auction items, danced to the music of Running Still, and learned more about Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter programs and services. Sponsored by the Service Board, the event raised a significant sum for the organization—more than $100,000, including $70,000 for CampCare, a grief support summer program for children and teens.
Lori Henderson, Service Board president, reflected: “The bountiful, beautiful Chicago Botanic Garden was the perfect spot to raise awareness about the organization’s vital programming for people who are facing a serious illness or the end of life.”
CareCenter continues to make a difference in the lives of others thanks to the commitment of generous benefactors. Support from the community helps the us provide much-needed services to those in our community.
