Comfort Zone Inspires Generous Support
May 2010
This year’s Comfort Zone generated inspiring levels of support!
Held for the second year in the verdant environs of the Chicago Botanic Garden, the event brought together Midwest CareCenter friends and supporters, who raised nearly $200,000 for Midwest CareCenter programs and services. Included in this significant sum is an impressive $80,000 for CampCare, our annual grief support summer program for youth.
Community service awards were presented to the Waud family and Jeanne Dale, longtime friends and donors of the organization, and Chief Medical Officer Martha Twaddle, MD, was honored for her 20 years of service.
The Volpe family gave a poignant testimony to the benefits of CampCare, which provided needed grief support after the death of their beloved husband and father.
Guests bid on silent and live auction items, including the much-coveted Blackhawks jersey signed by allstar Patrick Kane and a trip to Windsor, a beautiful family friendly golf resort in Vero Beach, Florida.
Midwest CareCenter is grateful for the generous, unwavering support of the individuals who believe so strongly in our mission. We cannot do what we do without you.
Support from the community helps us provide hospice, grief support and palliative care services for patients and their families in north/northwest Chicago, north suburbs and Lake County.
