We are pleased to welcome patients, families and healthcare providers to our new Community Center for Learning. The center is open to the community during the following days/times:
Monday & Thursday: 9 a.m. to noon
Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Envisioning a space at CareCenter that would offer pertinent and up-to-date healthcare information to the community, the Crown family generously funded the Community Center for Learning.
The family’s gift is in memory of their friend Ann Benedek Frank, who was passionate about learning and inspired those around her to ask questions and do research in order to solve problems.
Although the physical space within our Glenview facility is welcoming and inviting, the resource center is not merely a destination. It is also a potpourri of outreach programs that are accessible to the community we serve—people of all ages and in all stages of life.
Flexible room setup, evolving media capabilities and adaptable scheduling will allow CareCenter to be responsive to requests for both immediate healthcare information needs and months-long learning opportunities. Equipment and furniture is multi-functional and features such conveniences as TV/DVD player, mobile “SmartBoard” (an interactive white board), and computer workstations with Internet access.
The Community Center for Learning houses a collection of material and media related to wellness and care options. And visitors will receive assistance in their quest for information options.
“The Crowns’ kindness and generosity have been overwhelming to our family,” commented Buzz Frank, whose wife was honored through the gift for the resource center. “One of the most difficult times during Ann's illness was the process of learning about and understanding the disease. The Center for Learning will assist countless others in this difficult process.”
