New Name, New Address!
September 2005
Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter is the new name for Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of the North Shore.
This change reflects the organization’s:
- Growth.
- Commitment to excellence in end-of-life care.
- Leadership role locally and nationally in palliative care.
- Goal of influencing greater access to care for people of any age who are facing a serious, chronic or life-threatening illness.
The name change coincides with our move into a new, state-of-the-art, 56,000-square-foot community care center in Glenview—2050 Claire Court.
Named in honor of the Robert H. and Terri L. Cohn family, the new facility:
- Serves as the central site for the coordination of all facets of healthcare that CareCenter provides.
- Offers numerous other services to the community—a light-filled atrium for community forums and grief counseling rooms for adults and children.
- Will feature a resource center, which will be accessible to the community in early 2006.
Since the organization’s founding in 1978 as Hospice of the North Shore, we have helped pave the way for increased access to palliative care nationwide.
Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter remains focused on changing the way healthcare is delivered and providing people in our community with options for the care they need.
From home wellness services to hospice and grief support, we are here to provide care and support to you, your family or friends—every step of the way.
