Sheehan Named Midwest CareCenter President and CEO

Following an extensive national search, the Midwest CareCenter Board of Directors has named Mary K. Sheehan, MSN, MBA, RN, the new president and CEO of the organization. Sheehan replaces Dorothy Pitner Healy, BSN, MBA, RN, who retired after 16 years in the leadership role.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the hospice and home healthcare industry, Sheehan is a highly respected and prominent professional, at both the local and national levels. Currently, she holds key advisory/membership positions with the following organizations:
- Illinois Home Care Council
- Hospice Association of America
- National Hospice Work Group
- National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization
According to Board Chair Katherine Nicklin, “Mary has been an integral part of the Midwest CareCenter leadership team for more than ten years. She has helped create important and innovative programs that extend the continuum of care to make certain that fewer people fall through the cracks of today’s healthcare system.
