Weathering the Storm with Your Partnership
August 2009
The current economy and changes in federal funding have had an effect on many nonprofit organizations, including Midwest CareCenter.
For example, we recently streamlined operations in order to provide better access to care as well as more efficient and effective services to our patients and their families.
You may be wondering
“How is the
organization doing?”
“Have my investments
been worthwhile?” So here is a quick
summary of the fiscal health of Midwest CareCenter.
- Our balance sheet continues to be strong, with
solid cash and short-term investment balances.
- We carry no debt beyond regular monthly
accounts payable.
- Operational spending has been reduced
to align with decreases in patient revenues.
- The endowment fund continues to grow.
Most importantly,
- We continue to provide exceptional care to
patients and their families, including those who
are inadequately insured or have no insurance
coverage at all.
- Healthcare professionals and community
members benefit from our educational efforts
that promote greater access to the right
healthcare at the right time.
All of this has been possible because of the
commitment of Midwest CareCenter staff and
volunteers as well as the continued generosity
of our donors.
We are confident that with good stewardship of resources, responsible leadership choices and your continued partnership, we will carry
out our mission of reaching out and providing
assistance to seriously ill individuals as well
as their families for years to come.
We ask you to continue to invest in Midwest CareCenter
and invite you to contact Craig Dresang,
VP of community development, or Anne
Rossiter, senior director of philanthropy, to learn
about the giving opportunities that are available.
