When you face the challenges of a serious or life-threatening illness, having healthcare and support that is sensitive to your Jewish practices and traditions is important to you.
Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter offers you
... the same hospice and palliative care services that we provide to patients from other cultural traditions. But we provide care for our Jewish patients in the context of Jewish values, customs and traditions.
- Care is patient- and family-focused.
- Services help relieve pain and other distressing symptoms to enhance your quality of life.
- Hospice uses a team approach to address all of your concerns—physical, interpersonal, emotional and spiritual.
- Your care team will include your physician, your rabbi or other spiritual advisor, and Midwest CareCenter professionals and volunteers who have had specialized training.
Note: Midwest CareCenter has four on-staff rabbis with diverse Judaic backgrounds.
Care in a Variety of Settings
Hospice and palliative care can be provided wherever you and your family prefer:
- Your own home
- Retirement community
- Long-term care facility
- Elderly care facility
- Hospital
Our Hospice Inpatient Unit (on the campus of Skokie Hospital) also is available when medically necessary.
What about the Costs?
We work with Medicare, Medicaid or your private insurance to obtain reimbursement for your services.
Those payments, in addition to philanthropic donations, cover the costs of Jewish Care Services; therefore you will not receive a bill for services.
